Recently I tried a variety of foods from Nature's Plate. This is a company based in Dallas (by people from Denton) that makes healthy vegan meals, which you can preorder and pick up at Mashup Market on Wednesday afternoons.
I was happy to find that they were tasty, healthy, and convenient. The veggies in the Sweet and Sour Tofu had crunch to them, the Chana Masala had a great spice, and the mashed potatoes were so flavorful!
The menu options change each week, and things can be ordered a la carte or with a subscription service. The subscription is a purchase of at least 5 meals a week, which can be skipped as needed, at a lower price. There are also discounts for quantity orders on top of that. I went for the subscription because I have hungry vegan teens and I'd rather they grab something like this than a package of ramen!
Pictured above, clockwise from top left: Sweet and Sour Tofu, gf Brownie, Lemon Tahini Bowl, Chana Masala (I added a dollop of plain yogurt), Chana Masala in the package, and the BBQ Plate.
If you'd like to try them out, they are offering $15 off your first order with the coupon code DENTONVEGAN. Choose Wednesday delivery and Mashup Market as the location. Enjoy!
Check out The Cookie Crave for a great selection of vegan cookies that are really good! The ginger snap has bite, and the oatmeal chocolate chip has just the right texture.
They also have a big selection of tea blends to enjoy with your cookies. Patio seating is available, too! Next time you're near the square, stop by and grab a few.
When you visit Mean Greens, notice the announcements near the register for upcoming theme days. It's for all of the dining halls, so look in the upper right hand corner to see which ones apply to Mean Greens. This week they'll be celebraing two good ones: Thursday will be National Pasta Day, and Friday will be National Chocolate Cupcake Day!
Now that we've found the nearby paid parking that's about $3 for an hour, it will be more convenient to go back more often. See you there!
Gyro 360 recently opened on Hickory Street just off the square. Pictured here is their beautiful falafel sandwich with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and tahini sauce. You can also get the falafel bowl if you prefer. We're glad to know that they don't fry animal products in their oil, so their vegan food is truly vegan. Enjoy!!
Thanks to Jessica, who wrote with a list of vegan eats at the Movie Tavern! We can enjoy a good assortment there, such as:
Popcorn (no butter)
Sweet Potato Tater Tots (no sauce)
Pretzel Bites (no cheese)
General Tso's Cauliflower
Vietnamese Rice Bowl (no protein)
Enjoy, all you movie lovers!
Check out this amazing organic and vegan menu that Juice Lab is offering this year! They are partnering with Good Earth for vegan cheese as well. We want to try all the things. Check out their IG page for ordering deadlines and more info. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
We’re so excited about this upcoming event! There will be lots of vegan goods from local artisans. For more information, visit http://www.vmarketdallas.com/

Hey, look! It’s the amazing Rev. Pamela Wat in her vegan wear during Denton’s Turkey Trot! We love seeing strong members of the community showing kindness, whether on their shirts or on their plates. Thanks, Rev. Pam!

I've been to the new Denton location of Spiral Diner three times now. It's still pretty much an out of body experience. For so many years we've been driving to Fort Worth or Dallas just to get the goodness that they serve. To have one in town is just amazing!
I started this site to point vegans to the local Denton restaurants so they could find some GOOD vegan options in town. At best we could find a few things here and there. Mean Greens is all vegan and has been there for us for over five years now, but they're not open on the weekends or summers. At long last we have a place that is all vegan and open six days a week!
Not only that, the food is so amazing that many of my omni friends love eating there as well. Good vegan food in a friendly establishment can change hearts and minds. Spiral, we're so glad you're here! Stay awesome and we look forward to visiting again and again.
